Last night's council meeting was a special one. Not only was it the last meeting of the current sitting council, it was also the last for Deputy Mayor Phil Mooney.

Mooney, who has sat at the table for the last 12 years as Mayor and Deputy Mayor, has moved to the municipality and is not reoffering for a seat in the election. "Deputy Mayor Phil" was first elected to council in 1984 and has been a tireless promoter of Yarmouth over the years. Whether serving as Councillor, working behind the cash at City Drug, dominating tournaments at Yarmouth Links, or simply greeting people on his daily walks through town, no one shows more love and passion for this town than Phil Mooney. Did we mention that nobody knows more people, or stories about those people, than Phil? It's been scientifically proven.

Last night Mayor Mood presented Phil with a key to Town Hall as a thank you for his service and dedication to the Town of Yarmouth. Phil, don't forget to use that key and stop by Town Hall to say hello!
