Yarmouth’s Public Works Department is responsible for making our streets and sidewalks safe and accessible for pedestrians and properly equipped vehicles. We provide snow and ice control for a number of areas within the town, including:
- roughly 68 kilometres of streets
- 50 kilometres of sidewalks
- a number of parking lots
- yard areas for the Wastewater Treatment Plant, the Town Hall, the RCMP building, Fire Hall, and Public Works Facility
While we work to keep the streets and sidewalks reasonably clear of snow, Yarmouth’s residents and business owners are responsible for removing snow and ice from other areas – including non-plowed sidewalks, pathways, and dangerous icicles. Learn more at Snow Removal.
