Transit Service Reports Huge Increase in Ridership

Last December, Town of Yarmouth Transit fares were removed, and new stops were added, including a stop at Wasoqopa’q First Nation (WFN). When these changes were made, it was the hope of Council that a key result would be an increase in ridership.

Notice of Second Reading: Solid Waste Bylaw

This is to serve notice that the Council of the Town of Yarmouth, at its meeting on Thursday, March 13th, 2025, at 6:30 pm, at town hall, 400 Main Street, will consider and, if deemed advisable, approve the second reading for its Solid Waste Resource Bylaw. Written submissions with any questions, concerns or comments will be considered at the time of the readings. They may be delivered to town hall, or by emailing: admin@townofyarmouth.ca
Solid Waste Resource Bylaw
This is a housekeeping amendment, to correct errors in section 7.0(d) of bylaw. The amendment will update section numbers mentioned in 7.0(d) that were incorrectly carried over from a previous amendment.

Ice Conditions on Walkways, Closed Trail

Pedestrians, please continue to exercise caution today using sidewalks and parking areas in town. While crews have applied sand, ice still remains in a number of places due to weather conditions. ALSO: the active living trail along Starrs Road, between Jody Shelley Drive and Haley Road, remains closed due to a high volume of ice. Crews have sanded, but ice remains. Use at your own risk.
