This is to serve notice that the Council of the Town of Yarmouth, at its meeting on Thursday, June 12th, 2025, at 6:30 pm, at town hall, 400 Main Street approved the following:
Sewer Charges Bylaw
Council appoved amendments to the Sewer Charges Bylaw to increase the base rate and effluent rate 10% effective on bills issued after July 1, 2025, and increase an additional 4% on April 1, 2026 and 2027.

August 10, 2026 - Recreational burning is permitted after 7PM
- Must follow the Nova Scotia Burn Safe Map. https://novascotia.ca/BurnSafe/

Regular updates will be posted here for Open Air Burning permit holders. You MUST have a permit for recreational burning (backyard fire pits) in the Town of Yarmouth.

Lane Closure on Vancouver Street Monday, June 2nd

Beginning at 8 am on Monday, June 2nd, there will be a single lane traffic detour in place on Vancouver Street from the intersection to approximately Market Street. The westbound lane heading up Vancouver Street will be closed. Traffic control will be in place to direct all traffic using the single open lane. The detour is expected to last until 12 pm. Please expect delays.
