Municipal Planning Strategy Review Request for Proposal

The Town of Yarmouth is seeking proposals from qualified consultants to complete a Comprehensive Review and Update of the Town’s Municipal Planning Strategy (hereinafter referred to as the “MPS” or “Municipal Plan”) and its enabling by-laws to include Land Use Bylaw and Subdivision Bylaw noted herein in accordance with provisions of the Municipal Government Act, Chapter 18 of the Statutes of Nova Scotia,1998. The new Municipal Planning Strategy will replace the Town’s existing MPS which was approved by the Department of Municipal Affairs on August 16, 2016, and included fifty-eight amendments. The new Municipal Planning Strategy will establish a contemporary policy framework in conformity with all applicable Planning policies and legislation to guide the Town’s future growth and development to the year 2036.

Trucking of Highway Salt 2023/2024 Season

The Town of Yarmouth invites tenders for the delivery of bulk highway salt from the Canadian Salt Company in Pugwash, NS, to the Public Works salt shed at 227 Pleasant Street in Yarmouth, NS for the 2023/2024 winter season.
The salt storage shed holds up to 300 tonnes of salt and is to be replenished throughout the winter season as required. The total quantity of salt to be hauled is approximately 1,500 tonnes.

Waste Water Treatment Plant - Anaerobic Digester Tank Cladding

The project is located at 1 Water Street in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia.
The project generally involves the replacement of the metal cladding, cap & sill flashings, and insulation on the anaerobic digester tank at the Town of Yarmouth Waste Water Treatment Plant. The Work includes but is not necessarily limited to the removal and replacement of the existing metal cladding, insulation, and metal flashing at the perimeter of the anaerobic digester tank, and all Work as specified and as shown on the Project Drawings.
Water Treatment Plant Lower Roof Replacement

The project is located at 1046 Lake George Road, Brenton, Nova Scotia.
The project generally involves the replacement of a portion of the existing roof on the Water Treatment Plant. The Work includes but is not necessarily limited to removal and off-site disposal of the existing stone ballast, concrete pavers, and roofing assembly on the lower roof of the main building (i.e. northwest portion), and the supply and installation of a new 2-ply modified bitumen roofing membrane assembly, including new vapour barrier, insulation, cover board, 2-ply modified bitumen membrane, deck drains, flashings, and appurtenances, and all Work as specified and as shown on the Project Drawings. The Work also includes the removal and off-site disposal of the existing waterproofing membrane on the concrete roof slab between the building and lime storage silo, and the supply and installation of a new 2-ply modified bitumen roofing membrane, including flashings, and appurtenances.
