Two Public Hearings will be held on Thursday, February 11th, 2021 at 7 pm in Town Council Chambers, 400 Main Street.
The Public can register to speak in person or call into the hearings. Written submissions will also be accepted and will be received until 8:00 am on Tuesday, February 9th, by email to admin@townofyarmouth.ca.
Verbal submissions will be received at the time of the Public Hearings by registering to speak in person. Speakers are required to wear a mask at all times throughout the Public Hearing except when speaking. Speakers are required to register no later than 4:30 pm on Wednesday, February 10th by emailing admin@townofyarmouth.ca or calling 902-742-8565. Due to the possibility for technical issues, written or in-person submissions are preferable.
1. Development Agreement Amendment to Permit Additional Accessory Structures for 339 Pleasant Street (The Meadows)
What are the Amendments About?
The Meadows long-term care facility has requested permission to place additional accessory structures surrounding the Care Facility. These structures would help create necessary storage space inside the facility for COVID-19 protection equipment.
Permitting the placement of additional accessory structures requires substantial amendments to the existing Development Agreement between the Town of Yarmouth and The Meadows, as well as Council approval.
How will this affect me?
Approval from Council will permit Planning staff to make necessary amendments to the Development Agreement to allow The Meadows to place additional accessory structures at 339 Pleasant Street.
2. Sale of 56 Argyle Street to Compass Housing Cooperative
Take notice that the Council of the Town of Yarmouth will hold a public hearing regarding the following matter:
That Council approved the sale of the property situated at 56 Argyle Street to Compass Housing Cooperative for the sum of $1 to allow for the development of a multi-unit mixed housing complex. The offer will be conditional on the project commencing within two years from the date of the sale.
