It is with deep sorrow and great sadness that I announce, on behalf of his family, the passing of James “Jim” MacLeod this evening, June 26th, at home, surrounded by his family.
There will be a private family service.
Jim’s well-known easy, gentle and giving manner were matched equally by his amazing zest for life and positive, forward-thinking spirit. A champion for his community in the truest sense of the word, Jim made each of us and his beloved Yarmouth that much better. As we always teased, “Everyone knows Jim!” - he walked every inch of this town and over the course of his career he met the majority of what he referred to as his community friends, always sharing a kind word. There is so much more to share but that is for tomorrow.
On behalf of the Town of Yarmouth, our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his family. He touched our lives and he leaves a beautiful legacy. The Council table won't be the same. He is loved and already missed dearly.
