Notice of Approval

Land Use By-law Amendment

In accordance with Section 210(3) of the Municipal Government Act, notice is hereby given that Yarmouth Town Council held a duly advertised Public Hearing on the 13th day of April, 2017 and at a regular Council meeting held on the 13th day of April, 2017 approved the following amendments to the Land Use By-law.

  1.   pdf Amend the Land Use By-law to permit the establishment of a Microbrewery at 270 Main Street as outlined in the Planner's report. *Note: Although the specific application was submitted for 270 Main Street the amendment will permit the establishment of Microbreweries, Microwineries, and Microdistilleries to locate anywhere in the Downtown Commercial (C-1) Zone.   2.   pdf Amend the Land Use By-law to rezone the Town owned property located at 28 Jarvis Road from (CD) Comprehensive Development to (O-1) Open Space as outlined in the Planner's report. (4.85 MB)

Notice is hereby given that Section 247(1) of the Municipal Government Act allows that any aggrieved person, the applicant, and adjacent municipality, a village in which the property is situated or the Director may within fourteen (14) days of the publishing of this notice appeal the decision(s) of Council to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board.

Notice of a Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that Yarmouth Town Council intends to consider, and if deemed advisable,

Copies of the proposed amendments may be inspected by any interested persons at the office of the Town Clerk, 400 Main Street, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday exclusive of holidays. The Planning Report may be viewed on-line at www.townofyarmouth.ca.

Town Council will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, Arpil 13th, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall to receive all written or oral submissions concerning the proposed amendments. Any written submissions should be filed with the Town Clerk at least twenty-four (24) hours prior to the meeting. Please note that any written submissions will become a public document.

This is to advise that Council, at its meeting planned for Thursday, December 8th, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., will consider Second Reading and if deemed advisable approve amendments to the Council Meetings By-law.

Council will consider written and oral presentations at that time.

Amendments to Central Business District Improvement Plan By-law

This is to advise that Council, at its meeting planned for Thursday, December 8th, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., will consider Second Reading and if deemed advisable approve amendments to the Central Business District Improvement Plan By-law.

Council will consider written and oral presentations at that time.

Grant Applications 2017-2018 - SUBMISSION DATE EXTENDED

The Town of Yarmouth is now accepting applications for financial assistance from non-profit organizations. The deadline for submitting applications is 4 p.m., Friday, December 16th, 2016. To be considered, all applications must be submitted in accordance with the Town’s Policy Statement. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
