Business Owners Continue to Benefit from Town of Yarmouth Economic Development Programs.

Christmas came a bit early this year for several downtown businesses and property owners. For the third straight year, rebate cheques were delivered to several property owners who took advantage of key economic development programs offered by the Town of Yarmouth.

In total, seven rebate cheques will go out this year as part of the Phased-in Development Rebate Program. This program, along with the Façade Improvement Program, has made a real impact on downtown revitalization. While the façade program assists downtown property owners and tenants with the financing of building façade improvements through grants, the Development Rebate Program helps ease the burden of the increase to the taxable assessed value of their redeveloped properties through rebates. Property owners within the Central Business District can apply for annual partial rebates of up to ten years on commercial taxes if they’ve undertaken the development of their property.

Congratulations to these courageous property owners who took the leap and made big investments to develop their spaces. The Town of Yarmouth is grateful for your passion as it has a direct impact on the quality of our downtown.
