The Town of Yarmouth was the recipient of a national award this past weekend in Victoria, B.C. at the 2022 National/International Symposium and Awards Ceremonies

VICTORIA, British Columbia, October 22nd, 2022 —
The Town of Yarmouth is the winner of the Class of Champions – Medium category. They received a rating of 5 Blooms - Gold and a special mention for Main Street - Street Scape during the 2022 National/International Symposium and Awards Ceremonies in Victoria, British Columbia. The Town of Yarmouth was in competition with Kingsville ON; Stettler AB and Stonewall MB. The community also received an Outstanding Achievement Award for the Scotts Turf Builder Landscape Award.
Over the summer, trained volunteer judges travelled to participating communities to evaluate the overall contributions of municipal council and departments; industry; businesses and the private sector – including volunteer efforts – regarding the following criteria: Community Appearance, Environmental Action, Heritage Conservation, Tree Management, Landscape and Plant & Floral Displays.
"Tourists are stopping to photograph and use the landscape as it was designed, a culmination of structure taking in the old history of the community and the new by placing inviting seating in the middle of the landscape which was very tastefully done. Adding trees, shrubs, and perennials making an outstanding picture and such an uplifting look at a Main Street façade that just enhanced everything the heritage Main Street is all about.
