A Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, November 13th, at 6:30 pm in Council chambers, located at 400 Main Street.
Members of the public can attend and speak at the hearing, or hand in written submissions. Written submissions can be also emailed to admin@townofyarmouth.ca, or delivered to Town Hall, and must be received by 12 pm (noon) on November 10th, 2025.
What is the Hearing About?
This Public Hearing will address the following items:
➡ 3 Commercial Street - Rezoning
The Town of Yarmouth has received a land use bylaw amendment application to rezone 3 Commercial Street from Low Density Residential (R-1) to Medium Density Residential (R-2) Zone to allow for conversion of the existing 2-unit building into a fourplex. Council has approved to move forward with a Public Hearing prior to consideration of the proposed amendments.
➡191 Main Street - Rezoning
The Town of Yarmouth has received a land use bylaw amendment application to rezone 191 Main Street from Medium Density Residential - Main Street (R-2M) Zone to Downtown Commercial (C-1) Zone. Subject to Council approval of this application, the property would qualify for the Town of Yarmouth Tax Phase-In Program, currently available only within the Central Business District (Downtown). Amendments to the Municipal Planning Strategy and the Central Business District Improvement Plan Bylaw are also proposed to accommodate the rezoning.
