A Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, December 11th, at 6:30 pm in Council chambers, located at 400 Main Street. Members of the public can attend and speak at the hearing, or hand in written submissions. Written submissions can also be emailed to admin@townofyarmouth.ca, or delivered to Town Hall, and must be received by 12 pm (noon) on December 9th, 2025.

Proposed Sale of Town-Owned Properties at 1 Forest Street and 228 Main Street
The Town of Yarmouth is holding a public hearing regarding the proposed sale of town-owned properties at 1 Forest Street (PID 90194770), 228 Main Street (PID 90342528), lands known as PID 90194804, and a portion of existing road (PID 90282690) to GCORP Real Estate Group (3299425 NOVA SCOTIA LIMITED) represented by Justin Ghosn, CEO and Director, for $10. The proposed sale is intended to enable the developer to construct a 45,000-square-foot mixed-use development consisting of commercial space and residential units, supported by on-site parking for tenants and visitors.
Under Section 51 of the Municipal Government Act, a public hearing is required when municipal land is sold for less than market value. This provision allows council to approve such sales to support developments that benefit the community.
