This is to serve notice that the proposed housekeeping amendments to the Town’s Municipal Planning Strategy (MPS) and Land Use Bylaw (LUB) sent to the Director of Municipal Affairs have been approved.
The planning staff is now working to provide updated versions of these two important documents with the approved amendments included.
What are the amendments about❓
➡ The MPS and LUB work together to help guide growth and development and form a long-term, strategic plan for the Town of Yarmouth. Housekeeping amendments were conducted for both documents to address inconsistencies, errors, and omissions existing since their adoption in 2016. With the help of Planning staff and public feedback from a Public Participation Meeting held last December, these housekeeping amendments were implemented and
approved by the Director of Municipal Affairs as the last step of the approval process.
How will this affect me❓
➡ These amendments will help improve consistency, error, and omission issues found within the MPS and LUB. The changes will provide clarity for the public and Planning staff with regard to facilitating growth and development for the Town of Yarmouth.
