International Day of Persons with Disabilities: Recognizing Local Supports

International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is celebrated every year on December 3rd. The day is about promoting the rights and well-being of persons with disabilities at every level of society and development, and to raise awareness of the situation of persons with disabilities in all aspects of political, social, economic, and cultural life.

This year's theme is "Fighting for rights in the post-COVID era" bringing awareness to the challenges and barriers in society that disabled people have experienced in the context of a global pandemic. On this December 3rd, the Town of Yarmouth Accessibility Advisory Committee would like to take the time to recognize a number of wonderful Yarmouth-based organizations. The programs and services they offer to the disabled community are invaluable and help many people face challenges, barriers and opportunities every single day.

Thank you to the staff and volunteers of the following organizations for everything you do as we celebrate this important day!
