With a recent award of $11,900, Yarmouth’s Frost Park will receive some tender loving care in coming months.

Friday, 08 July 2022 - The Town of Yarmouth has once again been awarded beautification project funding. The funding, awarded by the Department of Municipal Affairs, is designed to help communities across the province create more invit-ing public spaces for citizens, and to help attract visitors. This year, the town received a contribution of $11,900.

The park recently underwent repairs to the water fountain, and now additional features will get some much-needed improvements. Most of the work to be completed at Frost Park will consist of repairs and painting of fencing and other structures. Other exciting projects have been eyeballed, but are still in the planning stages.

All aspects of the project will be overseen by the Town of Yarmouth's Operations/Parks department, with supplies pur-chased from local businesses. Work on the park is part of the continued activities required to achieve the town’s Down-town Blueprint Plan (2010), Waterfront Action Plan (2018), and Yarmouth and Acadian Shores’ Tourism Destination Management Plan (2018).

The total budget for the revitalization project comes in at $25,000, and the grant award will help cover nearly half of the costs.
