Housing Accelerator Survey
- Details
- Category: Community News
In Spring 2023, the Government of Canada launched the Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF) to help local governments make significant changes that will boost the number of homes being built across the country. The Town of Yarmouth received $2.3 million through this program to implement its Housing Action Plan, with a goal of adding 119 new homes over the next three years.
To reach this goal, the Town has developed a detailed plan with five key initiatives designed to support and accelerate housing development (check out the Housing Accelerator Fact Sheets on the project website to learn more). Initiative 3 is focused on regulatory changes to support housing in the community and a series of amendments to the Town’s planning documents have been proposed to fulfill this action. We want to hear what you think about the proposed amendments!
Take our online survey by November 20th to share your thoughts on the proposed amendments.
Once passed, these amendments will be incorporated into the updated Municipal Planning Strategy & Land Use Bylaw through the Planning Review project.
