The Town of Yarmouth is seeking a qualified and motivated Chief Operator of the Town's Water Treatment Plant.

Reporting to the Town Engineer, the Chief Operator (CO) is in Overall Direct Responsible Charge (ORDC) of the Town’s Water Treatment Facility.  The successful candidate is responsib

le for the overall operation, supervision, and regulatory compliance of the Town's water treatment facility and associated infrastructure. This leadership role provides direction to water treatment operations while ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable delivery of essential municipal services.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced water treatment professional with strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and a commitment to operational excellence and public service.

Key Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum of two (2) years of post-secondary education and/or certification in a trade related to water treatment or water technology.
  • Certification as a Class III Water Treatment Operator.
  • A minimum of two (2) years previous supervisory experience in a similar or related role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of water treatment processes, regulatory requirements, SCADA systems, and treatment plant operations.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
