Notice of Public Participation Meeting

The Town's Planning Advisory Committee will hold a Public Participation Meeting on Monday, August 30th, 2010 at 7:00 pm, in the Council Chambers of the Town Hall, 400 Main Street, to receive written or oral submissions concerning the proposed amendment outlined below.  Any written submissions should be filed with the clerk at least twenty four (24) hours prior to the meeting.

1. Amendment to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land use By-law to enable the development of top soil removal, storage and /or processing plants in the Residential Holding (R-H) zone by Development Agreement at 210 Argyle Street and to incorporate provisions regulating and prohibiting the removal of top soil as outlined in the Planner's report.

Copies of the proposed amendment may be inspected by any interested persons at the office of the Town Clerk, 400 Main Street, between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, exclusive of holidays or click here to view the agenda with the attached amendment. Please note that any written submissions will become a public document unless otherwise submitted as confidential.

Notice of a Public Hearing

Notice is hereby given that Yarmouth Town Council intends to consider, and if deemed advisable,

1. Amend the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law, to enable the development of trails, walkways and streets in all zones as outlined in the Planner's report.

2. Amend the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law, to add "light service industries" as a use permitted in the Secondary Commercial (C-3) zone as outlined in the Planner's report.

3. Amend the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use By-law to revamp residential policies in the Downtown Commercial (C-1) zone and the Waterfront Commercial Industrial (WCI-5) zone as outlined in the Planner's report.

4. Amend the Municipal Planning Strategy to include a policy supporting the development of community gardens in the Town's Integrated Community Sustainability Plan as outlined in the Planner's report.

5. Amend the Land Use By-law, in particular the commercial parking requirements in all zones as outlined in the Planner's report.
