Virtual Public Hearing

There will be a digital Public Hearing on Thursday, July 9th, 2020 starting at 3:30 pm.

The hearing will address two important issues:

➡️ Land Use Bylaw amendments to ban election signs

The proposal would ban election signs, including signs advertising positions for by-elections, political parties, and plebiscites. Council has amended their former proposal to permit the display of candidate signs from within a residence.

➡️ Changes to the Municipal Planning Strategy and Land Use Bylaw to permit 'cultivating' and 'processing' in the C-2 Zone (General Commercial). If approved, it would enable a cannabis production facility at 26 Burton Avenue.

The public may make formal submissions to Council on the proposals.
