Storm Readiness and Public Notices

Read more to learn how to be prepared and receive public notices from the Town of Yarmouth if the storm impacts services and infrastructure.

➡ Be Prepared
As the tropical storm gets closer to our region, please make sure you are prepared. Secure items in your yard, and check and clear downspouts. If you have a sump pump or generator, ensure that it’s working and ready to go. Get any food, medicines, or supplies you’ll need to allow you and each member of your household to shelter in place for up to 72 hours. For a suggested list of emergency kit items, visit:

➡ How to Receive Public Notices
If the storm results in impacts to Town of Yarmouth services and infrastructure, we will provide updates. All Town of Yarmouth public notices specific to the storm will be delivered through our community notifications service "Alertable", as needed. Alertable allows you to receive updates through smartphone app, text, email, landline, and more, and is completely free. Yarmouth County Regional Emergency Management Organization (REMO) also uses Alertable for emergency notices, so once you register, you will receive any notifications sent out by REMO as well. You can also monitor their Facebook page for updates

Notices will also be posted on our website, Facebook page, and Twitter feed.
