At this time the Department of Natural Resources has indicated that the closure order does not apply to railway trails. Therefore, rail trails within the Town of Yarmouth are still open but we ask that people please practice physical distancing and adhere to the rules outlined by the government in this state of emergency.

Although we all had hoped to keep our parks open to provides spaces for exercise and to help with feelings of social isolation during this period of isolation, the fact is that many are not taking the requirements around social distancing seriously enough. As a result, these steps have to be taken.

But remember: although these spaces are closed, you can still get fresh air and exercise that are crucial for staying healthy both mentally and physically. Use your yard space or take a walk around your neighborhood.  Just remember to maintain proper distancing from others.

Thank you everyone for your cooperation and extraordinary patience. These measures are challenging for all of us, but they are necessary to get us through this safely and quickly.
