Amendments to Council Meetings By-law

This is to advise that Council, at its meeting planned for Thursday, December 8th, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., will consider Second Reading and if deemed advisable approve amendments to the Council Meetings By-law.

Council will consider written and oral presentations at that time.

Amendments to Central Business District Improvement Plan By-law

This is to advise that Council, at its meeting planned for Thursday, December 8th, 2016, at 7:30 p.m., will consider Second Reading and if deemed advisable approve amendments to the Central Business District Improvement Plan By-law.

Council will consider written and oral presentations at that time.

Swearing-in Ceremony - Yarmouth Town Council

The swearing-in ceremony for Yarmouth Town Council will be Thursday, November 10th, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. at Yarmouth Town Hall. The public is welcome to attend.

October Committee of the Whole Meeting Cancelled

Council will not be holding a Committee of the Whole meeting in October. The next meeting will be Thursday, November 24th, 2016, at 1 p.m. at Yarmouth Town Hall.

Dog Park Proposal by Upland

Town Council, on Thursday, October 13, 2016, moved that pdf the proposal from Upland (1.81 MB) in the amount of $13,905 plus HST for the establishment of a Dog Park be accepted and that staff be directed to proceed with the dog park.

Public Hearing - Sale of Lands

Yarmouth Town Council is considering the sale of the former lands of the P.A. Best Centre and the High School field to the Province of Nova Scotia for $1. Council may sell land to a not-for-profit organization below fair market value; however, where the lands are valued at over $10,000, a public hearing is required. [Municipal Government Act, Section 51(3)]. Accordingly, a Public Hearing will be held on Thursday, October 13th, 2016, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers of Yarmouth Town Hall.
