Councillor Don Berry

Don BerryIn Office: 2016 - present

Don was born and raised in Yarmouth, and from his youth to present day has always been keen on contributing to our community.  Over the span of 36 years, he has given countless volunteer hours to mentoring youth through sport and many other activities as a leader within public education.  His volunteer involvements include Board work with Family and Children's Services of Yarmouth, Yarmouth Golf and Country Club, Black United Front, South West Nova Employment Services, Black Educators Association of Nova Scotia and many other advisory councils within public schools.  Don completed his professional teacher certification at the Nova Scotia Teachers College and holds two Masters Degrees in Education from Mount Saint Vincent University. Of all of his accomplishments he is proudest of his children, all of whom graduated from Yarmouth High School and are either pursuing post-secondary education or are working full time in professions of their choice. "I am humbled that the people of Yarmouth have entrusted me with a seat on Town Council and am excited to work with Council and citizens for the betterment of our town.”
