The Vanguard is published every Tuesday and is also featured on the NovaNewsNow.com website where it posts breaking news stories and other stories from its print edition daily. The Vanguard is one of the country’s most honoured community newspapers having earned numerous regional and national awards for excellence. Among those honours was being nominated for a Governor-General Roland Michener Award. The Michener Award is the country’s highest award for public service journalism. The Vanguard primarily covers Yarmouth County but as a regional publication also provides coverage to neighbouring counties from time to time. Hours of Operation |

The Yarmouth County Vanguard is the voice of southwestern Nova Scotia. Headquartered in Yarmouth at 2 Second Street, the newspaper was founded in 1966 by Lester W. Pink. It is now part of the Transcontinental family of publications.
